10-20-2009, 11:17 AM Natkay Joined on 07-22-2009 Salem, Or Posts 3 Pa's and Xray documentation Does anyone know, when a P.A provides an intial interpretation for an xray in the chart note, can the Dr just add an addendum to that saying" I agree with the above findings" for his final interpretation or does he actually need to provide the full xray read for it to be billed?    Report

Joined on 12-21-2005 Posts 371 Re: Pa's and Xray documentation If the PA is doing the independent visualization of the x-ray and your provider is looking at that report and signing that he/she agrees with the report...the provider may not bill for reading of the x-ray. He/she did not actually visualize/read the x-ray. In other words did not perform the service of visualizing the xray. I'm sure your provider does not want to bill for a service he or she did not provide....doing so could be considered fraud. If your provider wants to bill for the reading of the x-ray, he or she needs to actually perform the full service/full reading.      Report
