Sign language or oral interpretive service.

I would appreciate if anyone can give me a CPT to bill for "Sign language or oral interpretive services given". I have a temp code as T1013 which cannot be billed. Need help.

Chris.

Re: Sign language or oral interpretive service.

Your are required by HIPAA to provide an interpreter (sign or oral) for a patient. You may not bill the patient separately for that service.

There are some codes that cover that situation, in that when an interpreter is present ...the visit time/service time is usually longer. i.e. 90802.
