Urine collection code
Was looking and saw 81050 (volume measurement for times collection) and wanted to know if I could/should use it with an 82382? What would you use an 81050 for? I thought collection was included in al urine testing. Is that not so? Help!

Re: Urine collection code

81050 involves timed collections over a given period of time (24 hours is common). A flow meter device may be used or the simple timing of flow into a measured container can be done. It determines volume of urine voided per second.

The 82382 is used to diagnose hypertension by collecting urine over a 24 hour period to determine total cateholamines.
